Inspired by the likes of Andrew Bird, Django Reinhardt and folk music from around the planet, The Bearded Gypsy Band play an eclectic mix of tearaway original tunes with Folk, Rock, Jazz, World and Gypsy influences. They exhibit masterful performance and original composition skills as they play with a musical authority and clarity seemingly beyond their years.
2014 has seen Adelaide band the Bearded Gypsy Band play approx 150 shows around the world. After an incredibly successful tour of Canada the Gypsies returned home to play a season of headline shows and festivals around Australia.
Selected as one of 'Rip It Up's 2012 Hot Six' and Awarded best Roots act 2013. The Bearded Gypsy Band have established themselves as one of Australia’s premier festival acts playing: WOMADelaide (SA), Woodford Folk Festival (QLD), Falls Festival (VIC), National Folk Festival (ACT), Harvest Festival (VIC), Port Fairy Folk Festival (VIC), Blue Mountains Music Festival (NSW), Fairbridge Music Festival (WA) and Caloundra Music Festival (QLD) to name a few.
Along the way they have played with a host of fantastic musicians including; The Cat Empire, The Beards, Hiatus Kaiyote, Daniel Champagne, TinPan Orange, Max Savage, Graveyard Train, The Tiger and me and The Quarry Mountain Dead Rats.
